Getting a new entertainment space in Reading

I needed a fitted bar after hosting a gathering where we lacked space. I decided to search near Reading Station.

I stumbled upon the site while browsing and emailed photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens replied with a quote that seemed fair for the job.

The process of organising this project was honestly quite detailed. I dedicated several days thinking on the layout of the room before even choosing up the device. My lounge area has always felt a bit incomplete, and owning a proper area for beverages seemed like the perfect fix to that problem. I recall standing in my kitchen looking at a cluttered countertop filled with bottles and realising that something had to shift. The initial conversation with the staff was extremely straightforward, which gave me assurance. We discussed different styles, from modern sleek designs to more traditional and wooden finishes. I was really surprised by how many information they wanted regarding the measurements and the existing decor of my house. It seemed like they genuinely wanted the final product to blend perfectly with the rest of the building. I provided multiple views fitted bar in the photos I sent, ensuring sure every nook was visible. They explained that the bespoke type of the unit meant that accuracy was absolutely critical to avoid any problems during the installation. We went back and back on possible materials, searching at swatches of quartz and different kinds of timber patterns. It is amazing how much consideration goes into picking the right handles, like knobs and fittings, which can completely change the vibe of the whole construction. I needed a place where I could comfortably mix cocktails for friends without needing to repeatedly run back to the pantry for ice or tools. The convenience of possessing everything in a single place was the primary driver for this purchase. We settled the blueprint after a brief meeting where all my concerns about wiring and electric sockets were addressed. I appreciated that they did not rush the design phase, taking the time to ensure that the depth of the shelving was enough for my tallest bottles. It felt like a joint process rather than a simple sale, which is rare to locate nowadays.

The fitting day arrived sooner than anticipated, and the technician was punctual and ready. He began by placing down protective covers to make sure my flooring stayed tidy. Watching the components being unpacked was interesting, as the standard of the wood was instantly evident. He carefully verified the levels of the floor before securing the main structure of the bar. I watched as the structure slowly took shape, transforming a plain alcove into a practical feature. The level of craftsmanship involved in scribing the panels to the wonky surfaces of my period house was impressive. He mentioned why each section fitted in to create total stability. We wasted a bit of time choosing on the final height for the built-in cooler, making sure it was accessible to reach but hidden back from main view. The fitting of the counter was the highly satisfying moment of the entire day. Seeing the smooth top finally sitting on the base made the vision feel to life. He then installed the mirrored backing, which instantly made the space to look twice the size. The lighting were wired next, and testing them for the initial moment was a highlight. The warm glow underneath the racks highlighted the glassware perfectly. I was able to see exactly how handy this would be for evening events. The worker was very careful, taking the effort to clean down every area and clear any dust created during the cutting. He also showed me how to adjust the shelves if I later wanted to store bigger pieces. The attention to detail was truly exceptional, right down to the silicone beads along the edges. It was obvious that he had great pride in his work, which is consistently good to see. We conducted a last walkthrough of the finished work to ensure all was perfect. I noted that a single handle was a bit loose, and he tightened it immediately with a fast turn of a screwdriver. This diligence is exactly what I was looking for when I arranged the job.

The finished bar appears absolutely amazing and has become the focal feature of my downstairs. It provides a sophisticated vibe that was formerly lacking from my reception space. The storage is immense, allowing me to sort all my liquors, sodas, and fancy glasses in a unified unit. No longer do I need to rummage through cramped kitchen cabinets to locate a corkscrew or a specific kind of glass. Everything has its proper home, which renders entertaining so more simpler and stress-free. I love the way the materials catch the sunlight in the afternoons, making a inviting atmosphere. My guests have already complimented the setup multiple times, with some actually inquiring for the contact of the people who made it. It really feels like a custom addition made specifically for my lifestyle. The elevation of the countertop is ideal for leaning by with a glass, and the built-in LED strips offer just the correct level of glow without being too bright. Even when not in use, it works as a lovely item of cabinetry that elevates the entire look of the property. I used some effort placing my bottles on the racks to create a visual arrangement. The glass back truly help in displaying the bottles and adding depth to the tight space. It has inspired me to try making different cocktails that I before felt were too fussy to bother in a standard kitchen. Having the tap close would have been good, but the space limits resulted in we decided against it to preserve storage room. This was a deliberate decision we took at the planning phase, and I do not regret it. The additional drawer room for napkins and accessories is much more valuable to me in the long term.

There were a couple of minor limitations that are fair to mentioning for a balanced perspective. The wait period for the custom doors was a little slower than I initially hoped. It took about six days from the first payment to the actual installation date. While this is understandable for tailored work, it meant a bit of waiting on my part. I had hoped to have it ready for a certain birthday, but we missed that date by a few days. However, the communication from the team regarding the progress were regular, so I was never kept in the dark. I would wait a bit more for a result that is built to endure than have a rushed job that breaks after a couple months. The initial price quote was also slightly less than the final bill, mainly because I decided to upgrade the hardware and add more internal lighting midway during the process. These adjustments were entirely my decision, and the company was extremely clear about the additional fees required. Another small point was the amount of boxes remaining following the fitting. Although the technician tidied up the build site perfectly, there was a significant pile of cardboard to get rid of in my bins. It wasn't a huge deal, but a thing to keep in mind if you have limited bin space. Despite these small points, the overall journey was very positive. The standard of the fit is far better to anything I might have purchased from a shop. It feels sturdy and durable, and I am sure it will handle years of use. I feel the worth it has given to my property far exceeds the upfront cost. It has changed the way I enjoy my downstairs space, rendering it much more inviting. I no longer feel cramped when friends come over.

Thinking back on the whole project, I am truly glad I went ahead with it. The first spark originated from a trip to a friend's place in London, where they had a similar setup. I realised then how greatly it improved the movement of the party. When I got back to Reading, I began looking for local firms and found that going with a specialist outfit was the best route to get the exact style I desired. The ability to choose each detail, from the shade of the stain to the placement of the power sockets, ensured the final product was just as I envisioned. I even had a small hidden compartment built for keeping expensive tools like silver spoons. This kind of customisation is what renders the service special. It didn't feel like a mass-produced piece being forced into a room where it didn't belong. Instead, it feels like it has forever been a part of the house. If you are thinking about a similar domestic improvement, my tip would be to remain calm and invest the time on the planning stage. It is far easier to alter a sketch than it is to modify a cabinet once it is built. The expertise provided at the start was crucial in stopping me from making common errors, such as placing the fridge too close to a heat source. These little bits of wisdom are what you buy for when you hire experienced professionals. I am now looking at different areas of my house to see where further I might install fitted storage. The success of this bar project has provided me the drive to tackle a bigger renovation in the bedroom next year. It has been a wonderful upgrade to my daily routine, and I look forward to numerous seasons of enjoying it with relatives and pals. Finding the proper mix between looks and use was the goal, and I think we reached it completely. The process from a cluttered corner to a stylish social hub was well worth the time and investment required. I today possess a space that I am really happy to share off to visitors. Reading has some great places to visit for a cocktail, but truthfully, I now prefer staying at my place and enjoying my own personal bar. It provides the same atmosphere without the crowds or the commute. That itself was deserving the entire project. I am so pleased with how the lighting functions in the evening, creating a chill environment to unwind after a long shift at work. It is the small treats like this that render house living much pleasant and fulfilling. I highly value the craft that went into the finished product. The manner the panels shut with a soft click tells volumes about the construction quality. No detail was ignored, and the total appearance is exactly what I needed it would be when I first started this adventure. It is a testament to the talent of the fitters and the standard of the materials utilised. I am a truly satisfied client.
